Classic rock I grew up with.

  • Pink Floyd - My brothers were addicted to this band. On the turntable from the living room it was blasted all hours of the day or night. Songs from Pink Floyd became a back ground "soundtrack" to my childhood. I can't speak about something that happened in that time without hearing one of the songs from Dark Side of the moon echo in my mind.
  • Boston - How many times have I heard.. more than a feeling? Sometimes when it is raining and gray outside I like to listen to this song. Strange..
  • Aerosmith - Dream on - as a child I could never understand what they said so I made up my own lyrics each time I heard it. Sad - as a adult some of the pretend lyrics come out when I am trying to be cool and sing the song all loud. I be a dork.
  • Led Zeppelin - Stairway to heaven, Whole lotta love, The song remains the same, Kashmir (to this day this is one of my all time fave songs it's so sexy!)
  • Ted Nuggent - Cat scratch fever had me TERRIFED of cats for quite sometime. My loving brothers took throwing cats on me to prove it only hurts when cats scratch. No fever.
  • Janis Joplin - First time I heard her sing it scared the hell out of me. My mother laughed so hard she made me sit and listen to Me & bobby McGee. Soon after -Work Me Lord- became one of my faves.
  • Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free bird. My brother would bash the air with his pretend drums and sing this song so hard his veins in his neck would pop out. When he passed away last year & they issued out some corny christian funeral song, My mind played this one over and over. I know if he could have said what to play - it would have been this one.
  • Steve Miller Band - This band is timeless. I will always have copies of greatest hits 1974-78 in my household. I played Joker so many times my 8 & 9 year old know the song by heart. As they should!
  • Meatloaf - Bat out of hell. My sister played this album over and over. I was infatuated with the album cover and the name of the band- the reference to cracker jacks in one of the songs also got my attention as I was a portly child with a great love of food. For a band to be named after a meal and sing about a snack. Bingo! We have a winner!
  • Eagles - Another timeless band that will always have a place in my music collection. Any album from the eagles is perfect distance driving music. Classic.

My first list! Making a list is much harder than I thought it would be! These are songs that I heard as a kid in the 70's. My brothers ruled the music in our house. I also adored disco- but would get a smack if caught listening or singing any tunes around them.
