Author Comments:
Forgive me but I'm just going to go with the academy on most of the female acting awards as I don't see too many movies featuring female performaces... the winners in those categories will most likely be speculative and based on clips.

Cloned From:

i have to ask, whats with the anti-female performances tendancy you refer too ?
i have nothing against it, and it's not a sexist thing(whether i could be considered one or not), My movie preferences just tend to keep me from seeing movies where females are in the leads and/or good actresses are in supporting roles. I don't see a lot of romances or non-crime/war dramas, so i don't get to see a lot of great or significant female performances.
ah thats fair enough. i only ask because you mentioned it in the comments margin. i guess your right, most female performances come from styles of movies you don't watch and thats fair. personally i don't mind romantic films but they have to have an edge to them. be about struggle, be set in popular culture, such as music or have a crime element as you say. though i also don't mind watching a female lead Romcom such as "Riding in cars with boys" which was drew barrymore. but she isn't the conventional female lead, i probably couldn't sit through a jennifer aniston "The Break up" style romcom haha
I liked riding in cars with boys... but when i do watch those types of movies it isn't a going to the theatre sort of affair, it's a hey i caught that on television sort of thing, which doesn't work to well when picking the years best.
