This is the first in a new series I'm going to call Critical Consensus. I am averaging the opinions of several excellent music critics to produce a list of each artist's albums. The albums will each have a rating between 1 and 10. The albums will be listed in a recommended purchasing order, so new fans will have an idea of where the best place to start buying an artist's work is. These are not my opinions, although, since I have chosen the critics used (and I'm using many), my taste will perhaps seep through a bit.
Terribly nerdy, I know, but maybe this will help people only now beginning to dabble into certain artists' bodies of work.
And yes, I promise these critics are fairly tough, despite all the tens above. After all, who do critics agree upon if not The Beatles? I'll be tackling some of the biggies first, so higher scores will be more common for the first few entries.

Allow me to be the first to applaud your beneficence.
Thanks, Bertie! This takes a bit more work than I suspected, but selfishly, I hope to discover some great new albums through the process. Hopefully, this will benefit myself as well as others.
I hope to strike a decent balance between classic rock artists and newer, more popular artists. I am planning to tackle Nirvana, The Beach Boys, R.E.M., and Pink Floyd next, although I am always open to suggestions.
Feedback is always welcome.
Shalom, y'all!

Here's a suggestion: the recordings of Glenn Gould.
Let me look into this. Compared to the number of good sources I have for rock, pop, soul, blues, reggae, and jazz (Yes, I'm working on Miles Davis, which is a delight and a chore), I have about 83% of the sources for classical music. Additionally, most classical sources I have tend to divide works up by composer, not performer, which could make Gould very difficult. I'll get cracking on this, but forgive me if it takes awhile.
Great suggestion.

Allow me to be the second - very cool! Have you considered telling us which critics you are consolidating?
Thanks, Jim! I no doubt will post my sources as soon as I finish fine-tuning this process and standardize things a bit. I'll also have to type down the many bookmarked sites I incorporate with the published critics I am using.
Yesterday I completed Nirvana, which I have posted. I am anticipating and dreading The Beach Boys; their body of work is huge and, outside of Pet Sounds, lacks much critical consensus. I am very curious to see which albums float to the top.
I hope to begin a similar directors' series as well.
Shalom, y'all!
