These aren't necessarily my favorite books, although some of them are. They all just seem to have a life beyond just the reading. I can picture myself in them or their setting, and feel relaxed and calm. Perhaps they represent an ideal world to me-- a better more beautiful place.

I totally agree w. all these listed that I've read. Especially the Interview series! It made me want to be a vampire in the worst way. The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned were particularly intoxicating I thought. Remember Lestat and the wolves in Vampire Lestat? That was one of my favorite scenes.
Lestat and the wolves were indeed wonderful! I tend to find myself the most "in love" with Queen of the Damned, for some reason. I think it may be because it brings all of the vampires together for a moment-- Lestat, Louise, Armand, and numbers of other fascinating characters spend at least a brief moment at the end all living together in harmony. Just to live under that roof with all that history and all those stories would be enough (maybe) for me to consider becoming a vampire, at least in my imagination
This is a great idea for a list! I think my taste differs from yours (although not completely), but if wishing made it so, there are definitely some books I would love to live in. -Chagal
