Interesting choices, so how is Lullaby? I only read some of Fight Club and liked it, but just stopped for some reason, probably b/c I saw the movie and felt the book was unneeded. Also is Galaxy Not So Far Far Away: Writers Reflections on 25 Years of "Star Wars" good? I love the first three Star Wars movies and loathe the new installments.
I've only gotten through a few pages so far (still engrossed in the others right now), but I checked it out because I truly enjoyed reading "Choke". I like Palahniuk; he reminds me of a poor-man's Delillo. As for the Star Wars book, it's an eclectic set of recollections from various writers on the impact the film series has had on their lives. My favorite is the one about the infamous Holiday Special, which, from what I've gathered, makes "Phantom Menace" seem like it was directed by Ingemar Bergman.
I've actually since the infamous holiday special and if you would like to see it, just download it from Kazza, its very very bad and some parts are funny while others are just embarrassing, but its kind of funny all the dance and sing along numbers in it, Lucas must really have gotten lucky with the first few movies he made.
A bonus treat for viewers of the holiday special - Han hugs wookies!
As if a space Bea Arthur wasn't enough of a delight...

I dunno, guys. I get the impression the Holiday special is one of those extremely guilty pleasures we all harbor, but I'm still trying to reconcile the fact that the last three films were some of the worst atrocities committed to celluloid. I still have faith in the series, but I'm afraid if I ever do catch this Holiday special, I may just have to burn the copies of my tapes.
Well, now, I wouldn't really call it a pleasure... I am simply amused by the fact it exists (I've read of it, but I mostly remember it from its original airing - oh, the schoolyard discussions the sneak peek at Boba Fett genereated!).
Although, really, doesn't everybody need a stellar Bea? Nearly Dantesque, I'd say.
Shalom, y'all!

So you think Return of the Jedi (1983) was a bad movie?
I know this is the most commonly voiced complaint, but the mere inclusion of the Ewoks ruined it for me, even after watching it the first time at the age of 11. I simply will not believe the most powerful armed forces of the universe will be undone by a bunch of furry, cuddly forest dwellers.
Oh, and the whole Jabba the Hutt bit sucked too.
