Author Comments:
I know I'm forgetting some good ones, not to mention about a dozen other Micheners.

My experience of Michener is that his research leaves a lot to be desired. I read his novel SPACE, about the history of the U.S. space program, and found several errors.
Centennial, about my home state of Colorado, seemed to be on track and a recent trip to Hawaii confirmed many of the things I remembered from that book. Since I don't know much about the histories of Poland, South Africa or Israel, I don't feel qualified to comment on the level of his research.
