Author Comments:

I, too, will try to not give in to the temptation not to list books I'm embarrassed to have read, like the large amount of mystery genre fiction that I read.

* Not entirely completed

** re-read

There is nothing embarrassing about reading genre fiction. I read quite a lot myself. I read for entertainment, not necessarily for edification, though that is also good. In fact, if you enjoy Joan Hess (who is usually somewhat humorous), you might want to check out my Humorous mystery authors list.

How are the Mrs. Malory books? I have not tried that series myself yet.

I just found them, and they are quite enjoyable so far. They aren't quite as "literary" as I expected, although Mrs. Malory is a literary critic, but more of the older woman/small English town genre.

the Red Tent was written by Anita Diamant... but i'm curious--how was it? it's on my list of next books to read but i haven't gotten to it. whadya think?
