If you only can buy one, go for Our Bodies, Our Selves. I have found it an invaluable tool when dealing with the medical profession. I take it to every single doctor's appointment with me and have left one doctor because he was threatened by it. Knowledge is power and if women are knowledgeable about their bodies then they are empowered and not the doctors and nurses.

I also highly recommend:
A Room of One's Own, by Virginia Woolf
No More Masks!: An Anthology of Poems by Women, ed. by Florence Howe and Ellen Bass
The Color Purple, by Alice Walker
These books are good for everyone, not just women :)
