This is a semi-scientific approach to determine which directors had the greatest gap between their best film and their worst film, as measured by the difference in IMDB vote rating. I'm only including major feature-length films. The dates in brackets are when the IMDB vote ratings were checked.

As a general benchmark, I've tried to keep all examples in the first category feature a difference of at least 5 points, and at least 4 points for the second category.

Suggestions are extremely welcome.
