- 1. Daybreaker (2002)
- You have to be pleased when an artist only gets better on each successive release. This is a superb album that should be on Best of Year lists. A great opening in Paris Train, Orten is simply divine throughout. She has some more collaborative work here, one with Ryan Adams (Concrete Sky) and a second with Adams and Emmylou Harris (God Song). Absolutely stunning.
- 2. Central Reservation (1999)
- Orten goes a different direction from her debut (see below) and really shows off her song-writing and vocal skills. Personal without being off-putting, Orten finds all the right notes, especially in her killer collaboration with jazzman Terry Callier on Pass in Time. A fairly haunting album that sticks with you.
- 3. Trailer Park (1996)
- Interesting for its dabbling in elctronica folk, a subgenre just begging for more entries if you ask me. Sugar Boy is pretty neat, and the whole album works in an audacious “why the hell not?” sort of way.

British singer songwriter Beth Orten is a talented performer who’s trying to help bridge the gap between folk and rock. This is how the albums rate.
