Glad you loved The Apostle; Duvall was robbed on Oscar night when Nicholson took home the trophy for As Good As It Gets! I tried to keep the films on this list the ones that he played a starring role; Apocalypse Now is obviously an exception, but he's so striking that I couldn't resist. So even though he did a great job in these other films, could they be considered "Duvall films" the way these others are? I know it's all semantics, but I did spend some time thinking about this list simply because Duvall has so many supporting actor roles and fewer starring ones...
