Best Computer Games I've Played

- Keep in mind that my gaming these days is next to zero (I'm on the road to recovery!)
- Diablo II. As far as sheer time spent on it, this wins by a mile. I'm just glad that I managed to pry myself away from it. Ridiculously addictive, online mode anyways. Still has a massive fan base despite being "ancient" as far as the computer world is concerned.
- Counterstrike:Source. Lots of fun online shooting play. Personally, I prefer the relatively easy dying of CS to the often prolonged fighting of Haloesque FPS's.
- Half-Life. The first one, while not nearly as graphically prestigious as Half-Life 2, which was also great, was original and managed to be terrifying despite the somewhat cartoonish graphics. Years later, it's still a great play.
- Fallout 1 & 2. From '97 and '98, greatest RPGs that I've ever played, post-nuclear apocalypse fun with highly questionable morals. I just hope that #3 will be as good.
- Age of Mythology. I'm not a huge fan of RTS's, but the campaign of this game was absolutely amazing. While I got my a** handed to me nearly every time I played online, the single-player mode was simply fantastic and kept my playing for some time.
- For the one that probably nearly nobody will have heard of, one of my favorites, The Neverhood. A point-and-click adventure/puzzle game from the late 90's (I forget when, and am too lazy to look it up), the game's entire graphics are made up of claymation. While it isn't really the most complex or difficult puzzle game (aka its not even close to Myst), the story is so ridiculous and fun that it makes it very worth playing. Also, its soundtrack is awesomely hysterical, written and performed by Terry S. Taylor. I can't really describe it, so I'll just tell you what the producers told him when he agreed to compose it. Make music that sounds like clay.
- Black and White 2. 1 was fun, but very frustrating at times interface-wise. 2 also gets a little old once you get to the particularly difficult levels, but most of the time it is a blast. Basically, you are a god who rules over a people, and you go around trying to impress other villages into worshiping you, either through benevolence or violence (hence "Black and White")
- Civilization 3. I'm sure that #4 is better, but since my computer cant run it I wouldn't know for sure. It's highly addictive for a while, but once you play it through a few times it goes the way of Monopoly (lots of unfinished games).
- thats all I can think of for now, and I'm sure its not even close to complete, but I'll just throw that out there for now.
