Author Comments:
These are all good business books, very different but every one worth at least skimming. The list isn't ranked, but let me know if you think one book belongs over another! The Lexus and the Olive Tree, formerly a best-seller, is a highly readable explanation of the global economy, with many fascinating anecdotes from author Thomas Friedman, the NY Times international finance editor.

don't forget -
seven habits of highly effective people
One of my favorites is "I See What You Mean: Persuasive Business Communication" by D. Joel Whalen. This Sage publication is a handbook for effective communication, both public and interpersonal.
These are older books, but I still love 'em. Yes, love....
Human Side of Enterprise by Douglas McGregor
(read this book. has. Really.)
The Money Game by 'Adam Smith'
'Up the Organization' by Robert Townshend
Taken together, they pretty much summarize the *other* revolution going on in the 60's and 70's.....
Ever read anything on business ethics? - or do you consider that a contradiction in terms?
I really enjoyed Growing a Business by Paul Hawken (of Smith and Hawken).
