- KMFDM [Industrial, "Ultra-heavy beat"]
- Information Society (read: Kurt Harland) - Don't Be Afraid(Hack was dissapointing, to say the least)[Techno-Goth]
- Sister Machine Gun [The Torture Technique was "typical" industrial, and since they've fused other music elements. Check out Metropolis or [R]evolotion]
- Depeche Mode [You should know, if you turned on an American radio station in the past decade]
- Orbital [Techno. Insides is probably the best, and I know you'll enjoy Halcyon)
- Pink Floyd
- Type 0 Negative (Can be a tad on the hokey side at times, but the sound's cool)
Author Comments:
No particular order intended, although there probably is a subliminal order, since I listed them in the order that they came to me (Or maybe it doesn't, I enjoy Orbital more than DM).

i find it interesting that i *love* a couple of these artists (depeche mode and info society) and severely dislike a couple (pink floyd and KMFDM)... what do you suppose that says about me? do you think i'm the extremist or is it you? ;)
I like Orbital. I have Snivilization, it is a good cd.
Since I'm now on my quest to destroy the old myth that all electronica is techno, just one comment. Orbital is mostly trance, with some tech-trance, but almost no techno. Halcyon On and On is definitely not techno, but trance, or ambient trance.
