Author Comments:
Of course I have not seen all those movies, this list is a mix of what I have been taught/told in College and a few bits of info gathered on the WWWeb as well as personal favorites (Jan Bucquoy, Lieven Debrouwer, Benoît Mariage)... I hope this can be helpful for anyone wondering if good movies have ever come out of Belgium

Oh, I saw La Femme de Gilles, it was fantastic
I trust you on that... I only saw that director's first movie, he's one of the most respected young directors here in Belgium... and that's saying a lot because Belgium, especially the southern french-speaking half has a sad history of not backing/pushing/promoting its cultural talents, neither within its borders nor outside of them.
that's interesting. I haven't seen A Pornographic Affair, but I'll try to see it soon
Just to be helpful, I'll throw in here that the American title for Une liaison pornographique is An Affair of Love.
Just in case you go looking for it. My local Blockbuster has the VHS tape, but not the DVD...
You probably already knew this, but just in case...
Shalom, y'all!

Oh, okay. Here in Australia it's been on cable under the title A Pornographic Affair. That's rather strange...
on an uninterestingly stretchily-related note, when Cruel Intentions (that silly but enjoyable teenage modern-day variation on Choderlos de Laclos' Les Liaisons Dangereuses) was released over here (in the exact same french post-dubbed version) it was called "Cruel Intentions" in Belgium and "Sexe Intentions" in France...
My theory would be that what with all the pressure groups and the moral minority and that intellectual cancer known as political correctness, the american market could never properly promote a movie as wholesome and artistic if it has the word "pornographic" in its title... on the other hand, I believe the Aussies don't bother about prudish matters such as those...
Bingo, I suspect.
Shalom, y'all!

Koko Flanel is on the list, so this was worth reading!
That was one of my favourites as a child
Still a lot of Belgian movies I need to check, though
Inderdaad / En effet...
