i'm sure there are a ton more... these were bands i thought were going to have great careers but only ended up disappointing.
feel free to tell me which ones you'd add.

The Tea Party, without a doubt.
I'd agree about Live. I love their first couple of albums but the latest one was horrible.
A very appropriate title for this list. I thought these bands had promise also, until I noticed they sucked. Very dissapointing. We need more good music out there dont you agree?
On the contrary to an above post, I think Live still has the chops to make good music. As for the others, they're all done. Bush sssucked from day one.

Exile was one of the best albums of the 90s. She sadly hasn't released a truly arresting album since...
Shalom, y'all!

I must agree with bangs. Not only is exile brilliant, Whip Smart, and whitechocolatespaceegg are as good.
Did you mean 'disagree' instead of 'agree'?
Whip Smart and wcse have their merits and moments, but I don't find them nearly as good as Exile.
Shalom, y'all!

i would agree with taryns list...
yes yes yes
Do the Police count? Once, yes, it WAS fifteen years ago...old lady I am..."Synchronicity" was the GREATEST album ever. It was up there in my mind with the novel "Name of the Rose", pesto sauce, and bitchen clothes from Comme Des Garcons. I waited for them to make another. Zip. Nada. Nothing. Sting put out a couple of good 'uns, but then, lost it. Copeland wrote an opera about the Knights Templar, Summers faded into nonexistence. And now even their nutbar manager, Miles (ex-CIA honcho), is dead. Rats....
when did Miles COpeland die? i just saw him on the Behind The Music for The Police?
