The bands everyone seem to love, that I absolutely hate

  • The Eagles - So help me god if they pump out another greatest hits CD, I will smack each one personally. Also, if they attempt to write a new song and end up sounding like Phil Collins once again, I'll do the same as above.
  • The Rolling Stones - I hate these cocky a-holes - the Beatles were always better in my opinion, deep down inside they were a bunch of wimps in their day and the beatles were the guys that started out with the bad guy image, what happened. Keith Richards and Mick Jagger are by no means "hardcore"
  • Lynard Skynard - If I had to listen to freebird to save music, I wouldn't do it. Enough Said
  • The Killers - synths and bill morrissey vocals should be left to people that did it right
  • Franz Ferdinand - A pure bore. Please take them out. soon.
  • Jimmy Buffett - If I go to another restraunt with a rock speaker somewhere near the beach and hear jimmy playing, I think I might go insane
  • Phil Collins - Should've stayed on the drums. Now you've stooped to licensing your songs to Bone Thugs' N Harmony. Nice direction for your career Phil - You are the epitome of suck.
  • Coldplay - As Chuck Klosterman said it best - Coldplay is a band that writes fake-love songs and is a photocopy of Travis - and Travis is a photocopy of Radiohead.

Beg to differ please - these are my opinions and mine only - I get a bunch of crap for them all the time, so one more person can't hurt.

I couldn't agree more with the choice of phil collins... I've recently come to realize that the band genesis must have been the start, or at least perfected, of the art of sucking... add in that they are responsible for launching careers for phil collins, peter gabriel, and mike and the mechanics and I would have to say genesis might be the worst thing that EVER happened to music.

even the ones I disagree with(the first 3 on the list) I absolutely agree about everything you said about them above... only I don't hate freebird quite to that extent, but i don't really care for it.

agreed - without Genesis - we wouldnt have to hear "In the end of night" played on heavy rotation all around the world on soft rock stations. the world would be a much better place without the likes of Genesis.

I believe that the song is called "In The Air Tonight".

And I hate it too.

Ok So I got the name of a Collins song wrong. Does this affect my opinion of music? Well - if you're a Phil Collins fan - it might. But after hearing that song on Light 106.9 (a soft rock station here in louisville) - You don't really care what he's singing. - as long as it stops.

Sounds exactly like Miami's 101.5 Lite FM.

Buffet has near-godlike status here in Miami...for ONE top ten hit!?!

Collins should have stayed a drummer or better yet he should have stayed as a (bad) actor.

The Eagles, the Stones and Skynyrd...why can't these bands just end like all the rest? They are living on 30+ year old legacies. IMO they were great THEN. Their status is highly inflated.

ALL "classic rock" should be played on the "oldies" stations right alongside Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry, James Brown and Ray Charles. That would put the music in its proper context.

I don't like Lynard Skynard but they have one good song... Call Me The Breeze.
