- If I was a Sports Star, I'd be a cross between David Beckham and Michael Jordan.
- If I was a Comic Book Writer, I'd be a cross between Frank Miller and Scott McCloud, though with less words than any of them.
- If I was a Robot, I'd be a cross between The Terminator and Johnny 5.

I'm a bit confused as to the underlying concept of this list. Is the result supposed to be (a) an overarching ideal that you would be constantly striving for, (b) an approximation of what your work would be like based on your own personality as a normal person, (c) some combination of the two, or (d) something else that I'm not thinking of?
I also have a few suggestions for the list, if you're up for them:
If you were a Novelist, you'd be a cross between...
If you were a Cartoon Character, you'd be a cross between...
If you were The President of the United States of America, you'd be a cross between... (you need not limit this one to only past presidents)
Yes, it is kind of a confusing idea for a list, which is probably why it's been grossly ignored. :-)
This is mostly a matter of personality and taste. For example, Tarkovsky and Fincher actually aren't two of my favorite directors in terms of the films they've made, but their directing styles really excite me, and I could see myeslf utilizing many of their techniques and filmmaking approaches if I ever directed my own film.
Does that make any sense? I guess it's closes to your (b).
