this is an expansion of my rockcritics.com post.

by the way, the band on this list I can't stomach is Save Ferris. It irks me no end that a band as sucky as this piece of ska detritus gets to honor one of the funniest movies of the 1980s. Guacala.

c'mon, trains! the link to an America we no longer know! trains!

What, no "Butt Hole Surfers" or "Dead Presidents"? The MC5 ("Motor City Five") is a great choice.

the 'Surfers may end up on my list of "Bands I Like Despite Their Names"...

Oops, Meant Dead Kennedys.

I just figured you meant the hip-hop group. No worries!

Anyone ever hear about Butt Trumpet?

My favourite name for a band was 'The Only Ones' (OO). They also made some pretty decent music, contemporories of The Buzzcocks and The Smiths (two more great band names).

The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. (Actually a band. Based on their name, they're probably horrible, but I do like the name.)

What about "Pretty Girls Make Graves" or "And They Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead" or even "The Drive-By Truckers"?
