the simpsons? futurama? dilbert? south park? (okay, that's cable...)

Yes, yes, yes. All the obvious ones will make it here eventually. Right now I'm more concerned with digging up the semi-obscure.

Family Guy?

Oh man, I remember Fish Police. I used to love that show. Any known release dates for DVD?

The estimable Bill Carter had a piece in The New York Times today (08-31-04) on the failure of Olympic promotion to launch a new series (vis-a-vis Father of the Pride):

'... the list of victims from recent Olympic years are such nonmemorable titles as "Tucker," "Dark Skies," "Final Appeal," "Out All Night," "Four Corners" and "Scorch." And if NBC is thinking that at least it is breaking the mold with an animated series, it probably should not check out the track record of the show CBS sold obsessively during the 1992 Winter Games from Albertville, France: "Fish Police." That cartoon caper lasted three episodes.'

Rocky and his Friends/The Bullwinkle Show (1959)
Flintstones (1960)
The Jetsons (1962)
Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo (1964)
The Critic (1994)
Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist (1995)
The PJs (1999)
Home Movies (1999)
Clerks (2000)
God, the Devil and Bob (2000)
Sammy (2000)
Game Over (2004)

I still miss the animated Saturday morning series of Star Trek (1973)... sometimes.
