All-time favorite Television Series

  • NORTHERN EXPOSURE - I practically cried when Rob Morrow left this show, basically killing it. The ensemble cast was like a family, the writing was beautiful and at times transcendent. It was funny and warm and dramatic all at once.
  • SEINFELD - Not warm, but oh-so-funny, this show made me laugh more than any other ever has. And all the inside jokes it inspired!
  • SOUTH PARK - I'm not a religious viewer, but anytime I see an episode I just about bust a gut. And if I was home when they were usually on, I'd probably watch every one. I only wish Comedy Central ran this show half as much as they do Win Ben Stein's frigging money.
  • THREE'S COMPANY - My guiltiest of guilty pleasures. I don't watch it much anymore, but I think of all the shows I've ever watched, I've watched the antics of Janet Jack Chrissie and occasionally Terri the most.
  • SEX AND THE CITY - Oddly enough I couldn't stand the first two episodes I saw, but I kept watching. And now I don't miss one. I love the characters, because they are real characters and not changed to suit the plot. Yet they still have flexibility to move out of their stereotypes like real people. Samantha, Miranda, Carrie, and Charlotte SEEM real to me, like friends. Note that John Corbett had significant involvement in two out of my four favorite shows, though this one he had little to do with my liking for. As a side-note I am mainly a Miranda with a good healthy dose of Samantha and almost no Charlotte to speak of.

jenhowel, haven't seen enough of you lately. Heck, I haven't seen enough of me lately, so I shouldn't talk.

Nice to see another Northern Exposure lover. It is one of the few TV shows I can think of that I'd like to have on tape so I could revisit it some day. Hmmm . . . I think I feel a list coming on. Perhaps when I get back.
