- the Smiths - Hatful Of Hollow: Although its more of a collection this still has to be the Smiths greatest work. Morrissey is spot on with the lyrics, its all there, some to make you cry, wonder, laugh and also question his sexuality. The guitar provided by Marr is as always fantastic and the musical side of it in general is of a high pop standard. STAND OUT SONGS: This Charming Man, How Soon Is Now?, Reel Around The Fountain and Hand in Glove
- Pixies - Doolittle: Solid, Heavier, Better are all words which can be used to descibe this effort by the Pixies. The albums starts straight away with the best track on the album Debaser and continues the high standard through out. The Pixies really did pave the way for the likes of Nirvana. This album goes to show change is a good thing. STAND OUT SONGS: Debaser, Wave Of Mutilation, Monkey Gone To Heaven, Gouge Away(Later covered by Papa Roach)
- David Bowie - Low: This is and always will be to me Bowie's greatest album. This Being one of 3 experimental albums by Bowie it featured Brian Eno and Iggy Pop. This album had superb guitar with some good solos. Trent Reznor has also said that this album inspiered him alot and i can see why. Bowie's voice was also of a high standard on this album even if in wasn't used that often. STAND OUT SONGS: Be My Wife, Always Crashing In The Same Car, Sound And Vision
- Porcupine Tree - In Absentia: Sit back and be amazed by the graceful tunes that weave and turn. Also mixed with harsh rock guitar and the melodic voice of Steven Wilson this art rock band from the UK deserve much praise. A polished and masterful piece of music that is perfect for reflection and depression. STAND OUT SONGS: Blackest Eyes, The Sound Of Muzak, Wedding Nails and Collapse The Light Into Earth
