If anyone knows where I can get hold of the albums like the Northern Exposure albums and Renaissance albums a pointer in the right direction would be greatly appreciated, cos they cost a fortune to buy off the amazon market place and ebay etc
Thanks

Halycon isn't be the Orb, it's by Orbital, and it's kind of a crappy 'best of' collection.
ooops!
Thanks for that. I will actually take it off because i bought it the other day to see what Orbital was all about. I will have to add it to my Albums That I Own list.
What do you consider Orbitals best album(s) then??? I thought Halcyon was v. good but then i havent heard enough of their stuff to say its the best. I also bought Orbital II after which i think is great too.
Orbital I or The Green Album as it's otherwise known is sort of the same style as Orbital II (The Brown Album) although the latter is widely considered the better album and is my personal favourite. Snivilisation and In Sides are the 2 albums after The Brown Album. They take a less ravey approach than the first two albums on the whole (Satan is one of the exceptions but this song was actually produced before their first album). Instead they favour a fairly complex techno style. There are fans who like one of these two eras who do not like the other. I personally love both. Also, though the first two albums have a ravey approach to them they are one of the few artists to achieve fairly complex rave music, think R&S Records or Rising High.
After this there is a gap. The three albums they made after this gap are generally considered by fans to have been a drop in quality. I personally have only heard The Blue Album out of these three and although some of the songs were reasonable, they weren't the Orbital of old. Some fans say this was a resurrection which makes me wonder just how mediocre The Altogether was.
Not all three of those albums were considered a drop - Middle of Nowhere was generally considered a success if I remember. I don't think you can do Orbital justice with any 'best of'. Orbital II will give you a much better picture of what they're "all about". Personally I love Snivilisation and In Sides the best though. Add Middle of Nowhere and you'd have a great collection, but I would definitely start with Orbital II.
Cool. I will check them out. I havent had time lately to just sit down and listen to music so i will give that a go now im on my hols! Amazon has some of thier albums going v.cheap like £3-6 so i may buy a couple in the coming weeks.....
