Spontaneous Pneumothorax? Sounds exotic, though probably isn't.
SP is when the lung separates from the chest cavity leaving an air pocket. It causes immense pain and difficulty breathing. I had it happen to me twice but luckily both occurences were small enough that I didn't need a chest tube or anything.
