Very happy to see the fabulous Ms. Hepburn here. Did you consider Bette Davis?

I admit that I could not include Foster on my list. In my opinion, she either runs very hot or very cold, and for every performance that wows me, there is another that strikes me as extremely misguided or ineffective.

Sally Field doesn't get the respect she used to. Nice to see her on the list as well. Jane Fonda also falls into this camp. I fear most 20-somethings have yet to see her best work, which is amazing.

And Faye Dunaway can rob my bank, run my television station, or lure me into Chinatown anyday.

Shalom, y'all!

For your consideration in the new generation: Kate Winslet. I'm sure you'll tear this one down somehow, but I'm convinced she has greatness in her.

Kate Winslet is a very good actress who with time could find herself with an oscar or two.I do agree with some of your stuff Jen.

Just a minute on my soap box--I always think of the good female actors as"female actors" and the ones like Pamala Anderson Lee as "actresses" In the theare world anyway, both male and female call themselves actors.

Anyhoo-- glad to see the great Kate (Hepburn) made your list-- my favorite of all time. And I have to agree with lbangs re: Bette Davis for great old school acting ability.
