An actor is a male or female performer in the acting profession.

Yes to all!

I've added a few more so I don't know if this comment still applies.

Your pick of Christian Bale as a rapidly rising star is spot-on. He is gonna be *huge* in the next five-to-ten years in my humble opinion. He has looks and talent and a willingness to do movies like "The Machinist" and "American Psycho." I'd certainly latch on to his star if I could.

Johnny Depp AND Kate Hudson are levelling off? Hmm, I guess it all depends on the individual height of the trajectory.

Johnny Depp: coming off of Pirates of the Caribbean, Finding Neverland AND Willy Wonka.

Kate Hudson: Almost Famous, How to Lose a Guy, THEN Le Divorce?, Raising Helen?!, and The Skeleton Key?!?

Hard to compare these two....but I do tend to agree with the rest. Except I'm pretty sure Cuba Gooding Jr passed away several films ago.

When I place actors on this list I envision their career tracjectory as a bell curve.

Just because Johnny Depp and Kate Hudson are both levelelled off doesn't mean their plateau was the same height.

Relative to his incredible talent I think Johnny Depp has reached his peak. He's not going down. I don't think he's going to go up. He's at the pinnacle of his career. He's had a $300 million film and an Academy award nomination in the past couple of years. I still think he has a couple of Academy awards nominations in him maybe even a win. The Pirates sequel(s) may do the same box office as the previous film. But either way more industry nominations and or filthy lucre will not increase his career trajectory because he's already at the top of what he is capable of and hence has levelled off.

Likewise I think Kate Husdon has also reached the pinnacle of her career. I've never really been that big of a fan of her work although I really liked her in Almost Famous. I don't think she has any huge box office films or awards ahead of her. She just opened a film on her own so she's not on the way down. But I also don't see her career going up much more than opening a film or two as she has. So her career trajectory, too, has levelled off. At a substantially lower level than Johnny Depp's, mind you.

That's just how I see it.
