- 1) Scream - The lone entry in the slasher/comedy genre - it works both as a "parody" and as a stand alone slasher film. Truly a great movie. I was less impressed with the sequels.
- 2) Scary Movie 1 - The first time I saw this movie I laughed so hard I almost cried. I almost cried at the sequels to - but for different reasons.
- 3) Evil Dead 2 - You have to get used to the Budget level here, but this series is one of the best parodies of the genre. It also shows the directorial styles of a great director - Sam Raimi.
- 4) Army of Darkness - Part III to the evil dead series - same budget problems, but the satirical genius is much higher - and the one liners... "Aw baby that was just pillow talk."
- 5) Shaun of the Dead - I just watched this movie recently and now I want to own it. It was amazing and just a charming and entertaining run down flesh eating zombie lane. A bit Deus ex Machina at the end but ya know - it was about flesh eating zombies..and a comedy...so I dealt with it.
- 6) Fright Night - The first "Horror - Comedy" movie that I remember watching. (Abbott and Costello does not count). I still quote lines from this film - "Welcome to Fright Night - for real." There are some great scenes in this film. The only painful thing about watching this movie now is dealing with the fashion of the day...ouch.
- 7) My best friend is a Vampire - in some ways this is a terrible movie, but in others...I really like this film and suggest everyone give it a chance...or a second chance.
- 8) Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Pee Wee as a terrifying vamp and a valley girl as the slayer..a novel concept of the time that perhaps the tv series lessened..but I still love it - perhaps because against every possible evidence to the contrary I will always give a Rutger Hauer movie a chance...
- 9) Hysterical - The Hudson Brothers did this film either late 70's or early 80's. It is very bad. But it is also very funny. I really can't say enough good (or bad) about this film. It will either make my all time best or all time worst list. I still don't know.

There are more out there but these come immediately to mind. I will probably update to 10 or 15 later.
