I've been trying to think of the title of this movie. A gang of robbers hijack a Las Vegas armored car and drive it into a huge hole they have dug in the desert, where they then try to get the money compartment open. Do you know this one? Is it listed here?
No, I don't know that one, but it sounds cool. Roughly, when was the movie made?
I would have guessed late 60s or early 70s, which turned out to be pretty close. I did a Google Search and eventually found it. The movie goes by three English titles: Las Vegas, 500 millones [sic], a.k.a. They Came to Rob Las Vegas, a.k.a. Our Man in Las Vegas. It was made in 1968 and has a pretty good cast. It was the clever idea of hiding the armored car in a hole in the desert that stuck in my memory.
Well that is totally cool. I wonder how I missed it when I searched IMDb? I will definitely add it to the list. I'm sure a LOT of the movies on the list stink, but if you think this was a good movie, I'll hunt it down to get a copy. I'll bet it's only on VHS, rats. Unbelievably, the "Las Vegas Hillbillys" is on DVD, and I just bought it this week from deepdiscountdvd.com for $5.32! LOL, I'm sure it's AWFUL, but how campy does it sound?
You know, you really need to do a review on IMDb. The only review on Las Vegas, 500 millones is from a guy who says it has a great cast but rotten plot. After hearing these two conflicting reviews, I really want to see it. I DO think the cast would be an interesting mix (Jack Palance, Elke Sommer, Lee J. Cobb) and I love the heist concept in Vegas.
I saw it years, maybe decades, ago on tv and don't remember enough about it to do an honest review.
Oh, I just noticed that only two of the titles I gave above are English; the linked one obviously isn't English, so apparently IMDb counts it as a foreign film.
