- Jane's Addiction - Mountain Song, I saw this video on Alternative Nation. I was listening to way too much metal then. Jane's opened up a whole new world for me. Yep, Punk Rock changed my life.
- Jimi Hendrix - Kiss the Sky, I had a radio on 24/7 from age 7. I was lucky enough to hear most of the Hendrix BBC sessions on a radio special. I stayed up late listing to it for three days. I realized from then on that good music is played really late.
- Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit, a girl I knew had already recommended the album cause a guy from Scream (Dave Grohl's DC band) was in the band. WHFS played the song at 2 AM. It felt like a truck hit me. Thanks for the tip Pyro.
- Guns and Roses - Welcome to the Jungle, I saw the video for this one real late on Headbangers Ball. It was grimy and dirty. Axl was screeching. It was everything rock and roll needed about then.
- Bad Brains - Soul Craft, I never saw them in their prime in DC, still angry about that. I actually saw the Brains for the first time on a Video (Headbangers Ball I think). The guitar, the dreds, HR screaming. Sweet.

I should explain this one, every now and then I hear something and a get this kind of cool warm rush. Like the world just changed but I didn't know it yet. Hard to explain why but the artists and songs kind of did that for me at the time. So here goes...

Wow, another Listologist in the HFS broadcast range. That's easily the most-mentioned radio station on Listology (although not all mentions are positive :-).
They're probably right, but I really couldn't confirm or deny it. I don't even have any presets on the radios in my house. I dabble with the web stations. Mostly I make a lot mixes, etc. I use places like this to find new music instead ;)
Ahhh! Bad Brains..amazing
After 30-plus years, 99.1 WHFS signs off.
Wow, as much as them overplaying "Jane Says" irritated me when I lived down there, this bums me out.
Well, that was fast.
WHFS is back! (for part of the time at least)
That's an interesting solution. Thanks for the link!
