I agree with The Exorcist and The Shining, but I would put Alien under sci-fi (and I like "Aliens" better). I also prefer "When a Stranger Calls Back" to the first one. And I will never ever understand what people see in "Rosemary's Baby". Rosemary is just too stupid for me to involve myself in the progression of the movie. Sorry to be all nitpicky, but I'm a big horror fan and eager for discussion of horror movies. Feel free to come and tear at my list of horror movies!
well,Jen. I suppose the beauty of movies is that they evoke different responses from people. The issue of Alien or Aliens being better, I feel the invincibilaty of the alien in the first one brings a more horrific idea to me. To see Aliens and how in that movie you just shoot them with the big gun and they die is silly. Alien is also a darker momy type of film, where Aliens borders on action. Just my opinion.
Both films have their strengths and their weaknesses, but I also favor Alien in a battle between the two. The opening film creates a tense atmosphere of dread that all the slam-bang action of the second can't quite top. It's currently cooler to claim Aliens as the best of the bunch, but I'm sadly anything but cool.
Well brother of mine. I agree Alien is a better movie. Aliens is more of an action film a lot of target practice. And as an action movie I would like Aliens better. But clearly Alien is a better horror film.
