7 of your top ten are from 2000, is it safe to say that you think that is the best year so far in the new millenium for film?

My heart still lies with 2001, I believe, but 2002 was also amazing.

Now that I look at my top ten of the decade list, it pans out like this:

2000 - 4 films (CTHD, Dancer, Yi Yi, and Requiem)

2001 - 3 films (MR!, Hedwig, Mulholland)

2002 - 3 films (Talk to Her, Spirited Away, Far from Heaven)

Now, it seems like I favor 2000 (and the best of that year probably beat the best of the others) but I still think that 2000 was a spotty year at best. The other two years had great films all throughout the top ten, 2000 basically ends at #6.

Gosford Park?

I personally didn't like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (and haven't seen others like Dancer in the Dark and Far From Heaven and Hero etc.), but Gosford Park? Really? That one would seem like a stretch to make the list for me, but it's YOUR list, I guess.
