Switching to a out of 10 system instead of the A,B,C, grading system

Thank heavens for the radiohead messageboards and yousendit.com, many many many records later...

Hell yes for the Soft Bulletin, A+. I can asure you that CR,CR is nothing less than A+ after hearing for a long while...

Yea, out of all those cds, CRCR is the oneI ahve listened too the least, maybe my grade will change in time

"Let It Be" gets a B, while "Yoshimi" gets an A? No offence, because "Yoshimi" was a good album, but shouldn't "Let It Be" deserve at least an "A-"?

no

Interesting.

I'm glad to see your fearless elaboration on this topic.

Also, Remain in Light is (in my opinion) far better than B. It seems like you are being too critical because it's an extremely unique album. I'm never heard anyone say a Talking Heads album is too short. And I can only think of one truly slow track off this, "The Overload", which is perhaps Brian Eno's crowning achievement of the early 80's. Rethink this one.

Im being too critical because its too unique? ok...

8 songs not being too short, its almost an EP, the last two Weezer albums were this long. Not that ill ever compare those pieces of crap to this, after listening to it a couple more times its more of a B+, but still I like their faster songs on it. And 6 through 8 all seem pretty slow to me. Theyre not horrible tracks its just that it starts off so good then just tapers off at the end. The 5 Tracks are fantastic though. Mind you this is my first TH cd ive got so I might warm up to it after more of their stuff, plus more listens.

As for the Let it Be topic, I give it a B and Yoshimi an A b/c right now Im really into the Lips Im a little biased. Also I listend to Revolver(Best Beatles Album by far), Sgt Peppers, The White Album, Rubber Soul, and Abbey Road(2nd best), a lot before I got Let it Be, and they all seem to be so much better than this, Phil Specter maybe. I like Across the Universe, Let it Be, And I Me Mine a lot, but the rest just seems silly and not very well done, plus they all seem to be going on their seperate paths on this one, even though Abbey Road was recoreded after this. O well I hope this helps, not sure if it will...

Im not sure what your point is with Phil Spector, but anyway, there's no way I could find it in me to give any post-Help! Beatles album less than an A. It's kinda like giving Mozart a B, it's just laughable. Let it Be was meant to be underproduced, and it is silly at times, but so was the White Album and Pepper, not to mention Yellow Submarine off of Revolver. Let it Be also wasnt 100% supposed to be released anyway. Its sort of a bookend to the Beatles career. Yes, Abbey Road is miles above and beyond Let it Be. It was recorded the same year-period as Let it Be, to give that a B would mean crucifixion.

If you heard the rest of the Talking Heads early stuff, you would probably give this an A. Try More Songs About Buildings and Food, it's very strong.

Are you outta your mind?

You have so many good albums on this list, with fair ratings, then you demeen your list with the comments on Replacements. Let It Be is massively critically acclaimed, and after owning it a few days, after never hearing them, you are just being short sighted. Your expectations were too high. It's one of the best albums of it's genre, and after rating Murmur so high before, I am highly surprised by this.

It'll grow on you.

im just joking around, that comment and grade were for your benefit, theyll change once Ive listened to the album...

Calmer than you are

If you like Hunky Dory, I hiiiiighly recommend:

-Aladdin Sane
-Ziggy Stardust
-Station to Station

All high class.

If you decide to venture outside of Bowie's glam stage, the more bluesy and folk-influenced The Man Who Sold the World is also worth a listen, among the early albums.

dont like Aladdin Sane too much, but it might grow on me I love Hunky Dory
