Yay! Serenity nabs the #2 spot!
I also agree with you on Murderball...so great. My pick for fourth best of 2005.
Serenity was #3 but a recent rewatch revealed some new things. And my major complaint (a slow beginning) seemed to have vanished.
I need to see a lot more films from this year though. My list for every year looks strikingly incomplete to me.
You seem to have seen most of the big ones (and I disagree with you quite a bit about some of them, most notably Brokeback Mountain, Batman Begins, and Sin City), but I would suggest maybe Munich. It's an engaging, complex study of terror and violence, and its emotional aftershocks.
Munich is on my to see list, though I strongly doubt I'll enjoy it. I very much want to see Land of the Dead and Los Angeles Plays Itself as well as The World
Wow, I haven't even heard of the last two.
But Land of the Dead was good fun, and certainly better than Day of the Dead or the pathetic Dawn remake.
Until I respond to this, this content will continue to be highlighted, and I'll keep checking it for new posts.
So this response serves that role.
You can click on the little highlighted bullet itself to clear it.
Thanks. I thought I had done that.
Is it working for you now? If not, e-mail me.
It's working.
