Cloned From:

I only see two A's.
Mmm, true, I should edit the comments.
I rethought my feelings on Kill Bill vol 2, and they definitely have somewhat soured in the past weeks.
Kill Bill Vol. 2 hasn't been wearing all that well with me either, although I still like it. Vol. 1, on the other hand, has grown in stature, if anything. But what I *really* want is to see the unsplit version (if there ever is one). The prospect of such a version is going to keep me from buying any DVD editions of the movie until I'm sure they've put out all they're going to put out.
I guess a lot of what is drooping in my mind is the dialogue. For a film that relies so heavily on character interaction, I'm having a hard time remembering very satisfying moments.
Where does Napoleaon Dynamite fit on here? I thought it was EXCELLENT
Eh. It was entertaining, but nothing that special. It's quirky humor appealed to every single one of my friends, but it was just...eh.
hey AAA, whats Alien Vs Predator like, i havnt seen it but am fearing its just a Rubbish "CASH IN" in the series? are my fears right?? is it another "Freddy Vs Jason" Let down.?
Eh, Freddy vs. Jason was better. More entertaining.
i liked "The Village" i would of but it more like A / B+, your thoughts on it?
Well, it was muddled. The entire thing feels like a giant "gotcha!", which would be fine if it increased the story or somehow deepened the meaning. Instead, we get a heavy-handed parable that has no distinct purpose or direction.
That said, Bryce was superb.
Low marks on Shrek 2?
Really?
I'd say it was the best kids movie of the year, by far(except maybe Harry Potter 3 - the only one in the series I REALLY liked). An incredibly hilarious movie, transcends all ages, quite literally. Good solid fun.
And I'd give The Village about a B. Oddly enough, my complaint wasn't the twist ending, it was a few cringe-inducing moments through the movie (mainly the annoying "village idiot", and the irritating and overdone "love is everything" speeches). I actually liked it otherwise. The way it plays with the psychological effects of fear on the mind was brilliant (I don't mean it was scary - I mean the way the characters were played with). It seems to be entirely opinion though - half the people who see it love, the other half hate it - even the critics are affected that way.
I agree with pretty much everything else.(although I'd give Hero an A+ - but I'm a kung fu addict, and therefore horribly biased).
Kill Bill Volume 2 has soured? I thought it was as strong as the first movie, easily (although in entirely different ways). No satisfying moments? What about the "Pai Mei" sequence? The oddly memorable Bill speech on his favorite superheroes? Etc...
I was excited for Silver City, but between your grade and the RT score, my hopes are crushed by now. Alas.
Could I pester you for reviews of both Silver City and The Passion of the Christ?
They will be up sometime this week.
Silver City isn't a bad film...but it is very flawed. Chris Cooper is wonderful, however.
