Sigh, I'm aware...
I just heard my first couple New Pornographers songs on a mix a buddy of mine made for me, and they're awfully catchy. I'm tempted to pick some up, espeically now that you've tipped me off to them making entire albums worth of good material (with mixes there's always the risk you've been given the only songs worth listening to).
They are one of the most consistent pop/rock bands working today. I would definitely pick up Mass Romantic and Electric Version. Also, if you like them, A.C. Newman (the founder and guitarist of the band) released a GREAT solo album this year called The Slow Wonder.
