2nd note: I have, of course, seen more films from 1997 than this, but these are the only three worthy (in my eyes).

Me and you have only four movies that are the same on our 1997 best of lists. I was surprised to see you had no Boogie Nights or Titanic or The Ice Storm. Please elaborate Nathanial.

Glad to elaborate.
Boogie Nights and Ice Storm are movies that I woefully have not had a chance to see yet. After I finish up catching up with the 2001 movies I'll probably rent them.
Titanic was a visually impressive movie, but I can't get past Cameron's script. I might revise this list and put Titanic on it, because I admit it was a very impressive film to watch.
