  • **Interesting anime feature about a future (1999) in which large robots who run the work-force are going out of control. Great animation, good story, good script, overall a fine piece of animated fluff, prerequisite over-emoting voice-overs included. I would recommend it freely to anyone who's got a hankering for this type of futurist anime stuff. Made by the director of "Ghost In The Shell".

  • **A viscious and disgusting French film that chronicles the murderous frenzy a pregnant mother goes on to satiate her evil telepathic child. Marvelously overblown bloodbath that keeps on repulsing the viewer with grisley mahem. A creepily repulsive voice-over relates the cravings of the voracious infant.

its funny, kool and downright great! hanks is great in it and so's the rest of the cast. its a classic in my eyes. its one of those movies thats always on about 12 / 1 am lol :)

Are you trying to lure me into watching the 'Burbs again...Because it's working. :?)

Tallyho

:?)

yes i am :) you can buy the first volume of:

'Yes i am happy with who i am..& im ready to watch burbs'

For only 90.99 pounds (UK) thats only $89.79 USA DOLLARS (note-pricnig may not be as stated and may be subject to MINOR YES MINOR booking fee)

so order it and watch 'The Burbs' because..you know its right..and your be happy you did :)

ok bb Stooky mate :)

My goodness what an offer I'm seriously contemplating your offer but there's just the fact that I could just rent it for a couple of bucks at the video store. Decisions.

Tallyho

:?)

I would bump The Dream Team up a notch, but I'm a big fan of Michael Keaton and of Christopher Lloyd.

You'd really put it in Very Good!? I know what you mean, but I just couldn't justify doing that (weepy ending).

Tallyho

:?)

Hey, it's your list - I was just voicing my bias towards Keaton and Lloyd. You're probably right. I guess the film-makers thought they needed a serious ending or they might have caused someone offence by doing a completely funny movie about mental illnes.

I really like most of TDT but that serious, introspective ending just puts a wrench into an otherwise flamboyant, funny film.

Bennie And Joon (another film I want to like a lot) also sticks on that preachy ending.

What about Don Juan DeMarco? Any thoughts?

Tallyho

:?)

Sorry, managed to miss that one. Can't recall having seen it on Blockbuster's shelves either. I'll have another look.

Okay the scene goes like this:

Stooky realizes he has mistakenly reccomended a pretty bad movie with a very fat and amourous Marlon Brando (Got rest his soul). Cue close up of pained expression, cut to lips in slow motion.

{slow-mo sound effect} NO..OOOOOO..OOOO..OOO {slow-mo}

Stook grasps his face in despair and runs fingers down face.

"Oh lord! What have I done?"

End of scene.

Hope this catches you in time Bert. :?D

Tallyho

:?)

You caught me in time, not with the above (very funny) message but by me soon afterwards seeing DJD listed as, I think, a cellar dweller in one of your later lists in this series.

Thank goodness. I'll have to watch the reccomendations a little more closely.
