- **Sarajit Ray's warm style unfolds the story of an Indian prince who allows his wife to meet another man. The two men are complete opposites and become rivals in a battle for her affection. The film starts off slowly with scenes of uncomfortable blandness. Perking up when issues of morality and power become prominent. A stellar second half certainly makes the beginning worthwhile but can't quite elevate the film to greatness. Good performances all around and Ray's direction is always a pleasure.

An alarming number of cellar dwellers this year.
I class Once Upon A Time In America as a great film - or a great gangster film, anyhow. An intense sadness is achieved, ironically underlined by DeNiro's final s**t-eating grin.
It's strange, but I found Gremlins offensive. It seemed to me merely an excuse for an orgy of gratuitous nastiness. One of the most tasteless movies ever.
If you were disappointed by Dune you took it too seriously. I'm convinced it's an important movie, an immensely funny travesty, among David Lynch's most estimable works. But do not ever waste your time on the 3 hour extended version, that will disappoint you.
I know, what the heck was I thinking when I rented "Mutant" or "C.H.U.D.", they're really terrible. I have no defense for these actions.
I sorta agree, "Once Upon A Time in America" is definatly a stellar movie. I just didn't love it enough to put it in Great, it's a matter of taste not an inditement of the film.
Gremlins offensive! You do have a point, what exactly is the point of that film. hmmmm. Yet I am entertained by the nastiness. When the granny bursts through her roof I'm cackling the loudest.
My opinion of "Dune" changes from time to time, at this point in time it's on the down swing. Right now I'm feeling dissapointed that it's not a better film, you're probably right and I'm taking it too seriously. But at certain points in time I enjoy the dorky viceral edge. If that makes any sense.
