  • **Also known as the hypnotism movie to Herzog fans, and baby, this one's weirder than an orgy for clowns. What happens in this movie doesn't really matter since the cast is mostly hypnotized and acting really sleepy. Half-awake people stumble around giving stilted performances (probably a side-effect of keeping them hypnotized). A psychic struts around prognosticating the end of the world among other things.
    Spoiler: Highlight to view
The end of the movie moves to an island where the story of humanity reconquering the earth after apocalypse is told.
Holy s**t is this movie strange...yet watchable. I guess it has a hypnotic (snicker, snicker) allure.

hi Stooky, love to hear your views on Marathon Man. watched it a few weeks back off a recommendation from Listologist 1922. i thought it was a great movie, Dustin was amazing and each scene was gripping and interesting! loved it.

Also why is Taxi Driver highlighted?

Marathon Man is a tad long, and burdened by too much seventies paranoia, but when it works as in the torture/escape scene it's unforgetable.

Taxi Driver is highlighted because I had just rewatched it on DVD when I did this list and it blew my mind, the thrill has since lessened.

:?)
