- Gimme Shelter - *** This is probably the best rock documentary ever made, which isn't saying much. Fans of the Stones won't be disapointed though, and the movie does have it's moments. Best Line: "Is my local Groupie in?" At the very least, see the movie for that line.
- M*A*S*H - *** Suicide is painless.... If you have any interest in black comedy, the Vietnam War, martinis, or golf, see this movie. I found the operating scenes especially funny (you'd have to see the movie to find out why) but fans of the M*A*S*H TV show will be disapointed that the actors in this movie aren't the ones in the show (except for the guy who played Radar).
- Performance - **** Weird, weird movie, and a brilliant one at that. Think Tarintinos's "Pulp Fiction" made in 1970 by a slightly deranged artist who has only one toe in reality, and an almost maniacle facination with Aleister Crowley, William Burroughs, Kenneth Anger, and Jorge Luis Borges. Stunning.
- A Swedish Love Story - *** The main fault of this movie is thatit is so long, or it at least seems that way. Still, its a very funny and sometimes sad picture of two teenagers in love. The movie is in Swedish, but it has a lot of music done in English, and let me tell you, that is probably the worst music I have ever heard. The lyrics don't even make any sense! It's really funny to see people walking down the street while the soundtrack blares nonsense....
- Trash - * Even though this is probably one of the worst movies I have ever, I really liked it, and you probably will too. Little Joe walks around New York looking for junk, while his girlfriend Holly (played by a drag queen!) battles the wellfare man (he wants to turn he shoes in to a lamp). "Trashy" fun. (Note I saw the movie again last night and I have a different opinion now that I've sat down and rewatched it. The scenes without Holly Woodlawn are all but unwatchable, and the movie drags as it is. This is an incredibly bad movie, but if you like weird stuff, I still think you would like to see Holly Woodlawn fight the Wellfare guy (he wants to turn her shoes into a lamp). DO NOT watch this movie unless nothing shocks you, and you have a lot a spare time. But if you have those things, watch Holly Woodlawn, because His/Her acting is incredible, and He/She acually can make the most poorly written lines sound fabulous.)

1970, along with 1968, 69', and 1971 is one of my favorite years for movies. You get everything from art house classics to black comedys about the Vietnam War.

Your comments on Trash, the fact that Paul Morrissey directed it, and the slightly more forgiving 6.7 IMDB rating made me add it to my 'to see' list.
The one excellent thing about that movie is Holly Woodlawn's performance playing Joe Dellesandro's girlfriend. Holly Woodlawn was of course (in case you don't know) a drag queen, and his/her acting in this movie is incredible. I heard that he/she almost got nominated for an academy award because of this movie.
