Author Comments:

The biggest list I've tackled yet, and damn, is that a long list of movies I need to see. I figured it would be more interesting this way than to break it up into ten lists with 6 or 7 films on each one. The 60's didn't fare as well as other decades, probably because of all the mediocre and / or corny 60's comedies I've seen. And "Manos" didn't help.

Cloned From:

Oh no, poor thing you saw Manos.

I just noticed you haven't seen the Sound Of Music! It's such a Wonderful movie.

OK, after the 50s, I have now to comment on the 60s, the best decade (for films) of all:
The Birds: 10/10 (really one of Hitchcock's best!)
Au Hasard Balthazar: 7/10 (good film, sometimes boring)
Doctor Zhivago: 7/10 (not Lean's best, but good actors. Too long maybe.)
From Russia with Love: 8/10 (one of 007's best)
Goldfinger: 8/10 (ditto)
In the Heat of the Night: 9/10 (atmospheric and a great Sidney Poitier)
Judgement at Nuremberg: 7/10 (Tracy, Schell and Dietrich are fantastic, the film may be too long.)
The Man who Shot Liberty Valance: 8/10 (three reasons to see this: 1. John Ford/ 2. James Stewart/ 3. John Wayne)
Spartacus: 7/10 (by far not Kubrick's best, but Ustinov makes it worth a watch)
The Wild Bunch: 7/10 (overrated)
P.S.: The Pink Panther below average? Why???

Thank you so much for your comments on this list and my 1950's list! I'll keep these in mind.

The original Pink Panther movie was pretty lame in my opinion. There was hardly any Inspector Clouseau in it, and instead we get a vast array of crooks who just aren't that interesting. Disclaimer: I haven't seen it in a long time.
