Great
- Adam’s Rib
- The Bycicle Thief
- Gun Crazy
- **A shockingly realistic (for 1949) film noir. A visual marvel Gun Crazy creates hypnotic, amoral thrills through masterful use of the camera (Listen to the commentary for an in-depth explanation). An excellent film with a edgy subversiveness that is sexy and entertaining.
- The Heiress
- Kind Hearts And Coronets
- A Letter To Three Wives
- On The Town
- Passport To Pimlico
- The Third Man
- Tight Little Island (Whiskey Galore)
- **A hilarious film about liquor of all things. The Scottish obsession with booze is the central factor in the film and must be accepted to fully enjoy this wacky, rowdy little picture. A ship transporting Whiskey gets wrecked upon a reef. The islanders decide to smuggle the liquor onto the island and elude British Security. That simple story fits snuggly into an 83 minute frame and the laughs are fast an numerous. An Ealing Studios production that's got the trade-mark wacky, dry humor in all it's gut-busting glory.
- Twelve O’Clock High
- White Heat
Very Good
- All The King’s Men
- D.O.A.
- It Happens Every Spring
- I Was A Male War Bride
- The Rocking Horse Winner
- She Wore A Yellow Ribbon
- Stray Dog
- **A taught Kurosawa police thriller that owes much to American police precedurals. It's a little bit stilted, and is tentatively directed but Stray Dog has got "oomph". Boasting, excellent chemistry between the leads, a great story and some of that old A.K. pacing finesse. If it isn't one of his best the film is a fun and leisurely second tier effort.

Good grief, you've seen a lot of movies. Do you mind if I ask how old you are, and how long you've been seriously watching movies?
I don't mind at all...27...since 12...spent about 10,000 dollars on movies by now. whoohoo.
T'ho
:?)
Yeah, wow, that's a lot of dough (and an early age at which to start 'seriously' watching movies).
Downpayment on a house basically. If I'm ever homeless I'll know the reason why.
Actually not that early if you think about it considering such listologists as Rushmore plowing through cinematic fodder like A Clockwork Orange.
And I've always said, it's not how many you watch, it's how much you enjoy them. <----(that's a stook quote right there) :?)
