The General - **** Buster Keaton's greatest. I would say that this movie stands along side "Gone With The Wind" as one of the best movies ever made about the civil war. Why did Buster Keaton take the side of the confederates though?
Metropolis - **** What can you say about the greatest science fiction movie of the first half of the 20th century? This movie still looks stunning almost 80 years after it was released. I saw the restored version a couple years ago (I was about 10) in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center, and it was definetly one of the movies, (along with Buster Keaton) that made me fall in love with film.
