- Strangers on a Train (1951) - A great movie; one of my favorite Hitchcock's so far. Bruno is so creepy.
- Ma vie en rose (1997) - A good plot and aesthetically pleasing. I recommend.
- Frida (2002) - Stylish and visually impressive, and I also found it pretty interesting.
- The Muppet Movie (1979) - James Frawley directs this gritty film-noir with great stylistic imagery. Kermit's dark, disturbing performances is one of the all-time greats.
- Rebecca (1940) - Perhaps a break of character for Hitchcock, this is less suspenseful than I expected. It's a great movie though, and Olivier is fantastic.
- Shadow of a Doubt (1943) - My favorite movie that I've watched in my Hitchcock class so far. The Charlie / Charles stuff is interesting to think about, and led to good class discussions.
- Notorious (1946) - Honestly, I was bored by it. It was one of those movies where I kept checking the clock to see if it was almost over. It picked up at the end for me, but not enough to make me like it. But I melted at the three-minute kiss scene.
- The 39 Steps (1935) - This movie had no plot. Each scene could have stood on its own and made sense. I wasn't really into that.
- Mystic River (2003) - This movie's best asset is its great, Oscar-worthy performances. The script ain't half-bad either.
- American Splendor (2003) - Weird, quirky comedy / drama that was sadly overlooked in its theatrical run.
- Victor/Victoria (1982) - Enjoyable musical which could easily be seen as a story about the ligher side of transvestitism. As a close friend of a transgendered person, I got a little more out of it. And I really wished that Julie Andrews had decided to live as a man.
