Sorry, but this is higly unoriginal. You just copied all the songs from the "Sultans of Swing" album.
Not true.
4 of the songs are from the "on every street" album and 4 are from "brothers in arms".
by the way, there is no such album as "sultans of swing". that's probably one of the "the best" editions.
I noticed that not ALL songs were from "Sultans of Swing" compilation (which, BTW, exists: it is their last album, AKA "The Best of"), but as a Dire Straits fan, I would not put a lot of those songs on the list. Why not? Because a lot of them were commercially successful, but IMHO, they have no real artistic value.
Which songs in particular am I talking about? "Walk of Life", "Money for Nothing", "Heavy Fuel", etc. Don't get me wrong, though. I like these songs, but I don't think they're the best songs Dire Straits ever made.
How about the following songs:
"Follow Me Home", "Where Do You Think You're Going", "Fade To Black", "Planet of New Orleans"...

i didn't know "sultans of swing" was considered an album, i rather think of it as just another "the best" compilation. considering the songs you named, i totaly agree! "where do you think you're going" is my favourite among those songs you've named. i also like "private investigations" a lot, and from mark's solo albums i prefer "wag the dog". "american hero" and "drooling national" just make me drool
The first half of Making Movies -- Skateaway, Romeo and Juliet, and so on are incredible. One major flaw -- Way, way, way too short. Each should be about 2 hours long. (like most good Knoppfler, and, for that matter, Clapton guitar stuff.)
Can you play Sultans Of Swing solo? I know a guy who can and he is a helluva player....i think you know him motherfucker
I heard of a guy few days ago... they told me he lives in Split, Croatia. But I'm not all that sure he can do as much as he says he can... Anyway, Chmar told me he's a lying bastard...
