Author Comments:

Action and Science Fiction movies are my favorites, but there are many others if you look closely enough...

I take it these are ranked? so good to see all the classic Arnold films on here...makes me happy.

Yup, they are ranked and it was a hell of a job Iet me tell you. The first 40 was relatively easy, but after that things started to get tough. :) About Arnold...the man is a walking legend if you ask me. There seemed to be a time when he couldn't do anything wrong. He managed to put together incredible string of movies (in the 80's). But nowadays, (big IMHO) all the movie industry has gone down-hill, and he couldn't help but follow the general trend... Oh well, anyways I'm glad you enjoyed my list. :-)

There are a ton of fun movies on this list! I'd perhaps draw my "guilty" line a touch higher if it was mine, but I've always had an overdeveloped sense of guilt. So are these in order of preference?

In order of preference, but also using some guide-lines

1)value best described as "the greatness of the movie"
2)how many times I can see one movie, and NOT get bored
3)number of memorable lines it manages to sneak into my (and my familys) every-day jargon.

About that "guilty" line, I tend to agree with you... :-), will change that in the next version.

I can relate to those criteria. I think our family's all-time winner line for criteria #3 is "Make yourself a sandwich, drink a glass of milk... Do some f__kin' thing." Can you name the movie?

Midnight Run. It's been awhile since I saw it, but that is one excellent movie!! That reminds me, must update my list.

It's strange how in some movies one remembers every single line from the entire thing. In that category I would include : Back to the Future, Joe Versus the Volcano, Big Trouble in Little China.

Good one (on the ID)! The list of movies where I can remember most dialog I'd have to include The Princess Bride, A Fish Called Wanda, and Midnight Run. I'm sure there are others but I promised I'd limit myself to the first three that came to mind since I'm trying to clear the decks this evening.

I love Joe versus the Volcano,it's such a feel good movie.

I saw this movie more then 20 times... When he manages to escape that tiny office room, and embarks on the journey to open sea, I get this overwhelming sensation of freedom. Very special movie, haven't seen anything quite like it.

An interesting list with a lot of great films.
I think that the three best films on your list are: Bonnie and Clyde, Psycho and Alien, even though I have to admit that I haven't seen them all.
However, I am missing one great film that would fit very well in your list: Star Wars.

Thanks. I find both Alien and Aliens to be excellent movies. On the other hand Alien 3 and 4 are some of the worst movies I ever saw... They ruined my good memories of first two installments. :-) As for Star Wars, it's already in there at number 40.

Hello. :P
