My twist on Jim's list is I decided to stick with films from the nineties (Music Box is a couple of years earlier, but that's OK). Most of these are smaller, character-driven films that might get some critical attention, but very little popular attention. Some didn't even get critical notice.

I watched a movie last night and about halfway though I thought to myself, "I bet Johnny Waco would really like this." It was Robert Bresson's A Man Escaped. Have you seen it? Here's my review.
No, I haven't seen it (or even heard of it), but it sounds pretty cool. I will definitely try to check it out. Thanks for the recommendation.
