(ammendments: The Talented Mr. Ripley and Playing By Heart were knocked off the list by Magnolia and Sleepy Hollow, which i saw in 2000, after i originally created this list.)

I havent seen anyof these

well...that's the point. IMO, you should! thanks for clarifying that.

the apple? i've never heard of it, taryn, what's it about? who's in it?

here's a description: "an iranian film directed by 17-year-old Samirah Makhmalbaf...based on factual news accounts of two 11-year-old girls who were locked away from the world by their parents until social workers stepped in. Shooting in video, the two Makhmalbafs managed to get the actual family members to portray themselves in this docudrama that follows the two girls, Zahre and Masume, returning home after their release from state custody." it was extremely touching, considering that not only was it true, but that the people you see acting were the very people involved! AND that it was filmed by such a young director. i recommend it highly.

i'm sorry to see that playing by heart didn't make the cut... but i was pleased by its mere mention. not enough people have seen this movie! there is definitely something a little... dare i say sappy?... about it, BUT- it just makes you feel so good after watching it. and how can not love angelina jolie after seeing this movie?? you simply must

RUSHMORE!!! Great . love that movie
