*ammended by adding the others and dropping gosford park from the 10 spot. also, the princess and the warrior dropped wit, and royal tenebaums dropped tailor of panama.
7/22: ammended the order a bit. royal tenenbaums has been creeping up the scale with each re-watch, and hedwig just overtook moulin rouge.

Fellowship of the Ring is definitely worth catching on the big screen. Shrek isn't a contender for this list? Not even over Tailor of Panama (which I know we disagree on ;-)? Mmmm, I guess it does have that whole Cameron Diaz thing working against it (isn't she on an "avoid" list of yours?).
I definitely agree with your first two choices. I loved both of those films. And they get better with every viewing. Also I'm glad to see the much underrated film 'the others' and 'ghost world', which wasn't underrated, but no one really saw that one. I've been told to see Hedwig as well as the Princess and the Warrior, yet I haven't got around to it.
I'm so happy to see Ghost World on your list! I rented it recently and watched it back to back with Election...sort of a twisted teen-a-thon. Another big thumbs up for the trippy Amelie, and Royal Tennenbaums, which I watched over and over just to catch all the wild set dressing and detail. Last weekend I finally caught The Man Who Wasn't There which is probably the best looking black and white film since The Last Picture Show.
