  • Misery (1990) - It was alright. Kathy Bates did a nice job as the obsessed fan. Actually, to be honest, I don't really remember what I thought of this beyond those comments. Probably a bad sign, since I just saw it 2 days ago...
  • The Shining (1980) - I recognize this as a good movie, but it doesn't really do anything for me. I'm not one of those annoying teenagers who need (or even likes) a lot of blood or cheap scares, but this doesn't really scare me. Sure, Jack Nicholson is amazingly creepy, but it's not enough to scare me.
  • House of Wax (1953) - Hmm. It was not scary, more comical, but it was pretty good... until I got back to my dorm and found out it was supposed to be in 3-D. Why would I want to see a 3-D movie in 2 dimensions? Anyway, one scene actually made a lot more sense once I found out it should have been 3-D. A guy was hitting one of those paddle-ball things and told the audience to watch out. I'm assuming that was a cheap 3-D trick in the movie...
  • Bend it Like Beckham (2002) - I think I was expecting a little more. I did enjoy it quite a bit, however, after talking to a friend and my dad about it, I found that we all kept thinking of Monsoon Wedding during the parts with Jess' family, and how much better that was. It was fun and entertaining, though, and I'd probably watch it again.
  • Save the Last Dance (2001) - It could definitely be a lot worse. I mean, I'm a teenage girl, I'm allowed to enjoy stuff like this. I don't have to feel guilty, right?
  • The Night of the Hunter (1955) - I watched this on VHS because I had big plans to see it at the Cleveland Cinematheque. There was a lecture with deleted scenes and all kinds of exciting stuff. Unfortunately... the girl I was going with canceled half an hour before we had to leave, everyone else I know had a midterm to study for, and the personal safety awareness class I took for gym made me really paranoid about the idea of walking back to my dorm at night. I know, my life is so hard. (Nathaniel, I miss having a movie buddy. : ( I need someone to see good movies with me...) It really is too bad, though, because after watching it in my dorm I was so excited to see it at the Cinematheque. This is a great movie.
  • When Harry Met Sally... (1989) - In theory, I don't like this movie. I think that has a lot to do with Meg Ryan; I'm definitely not a fan. But I've watched it many times and I always end up smiling. I definitely don't enjoy it as much as many people do, but maybe I should at least stop saying I don't like it...
  • Lilo & Stitch (2002) - Eh. It wasn't as bad as I expected, I guess. The annoying kid and alien from the previews actually got kind of cute. I'm sticking with eh, though.
